This schedule presents the New Testament in the course of a year at a leisurely pace of one chapter each day, progressing from Matthew through Revelation. This is a very managable pace for most people with less than fifteen minutes of reading. This pace will allow more time for reflection and study on the passages, as you become more familiar with the life and words of Jesus, and the history of the early church.

This is our Guided Reading Cohort for 2008. A community of people will be reading and commenting together as the year progresses. We invite you to join us for this journey as we grow in our understanding of God and our relationships with each other. There is currently no printable schedule for this reading plan, but the schedule is simple. We start with Matthew 1 on January 1 and we read 1 chapter each week-day, with 5 days of reading each week. So, keep a marker in your Bible on the appropriate schedule, and you'll always know what to read next. Of course the daily links below will present the reading, and the comment links for that day. If you have questions or need help, please contact us directly here.

 

Please use the Comment Links generously. The more people are checking in and commenting, the more we have a sense that we are not alone in our endeavor. You can simply check in with something like: "Read it!" or you can post your questions, comments, and personal reflections. Please feel free to interact with each other. The relationships that develop here are an important part of the process.

IMPORTANT NOTE!  Hello all my daily readers!  We've been having some technical difficulties with the wiki, and so I am accelerating the change over to the new wiki upgrade that we were planning to roll out in September.  We will be continuing the daily reading there starting tomorrow (Monday, July 12th.)  Here's what you need to know.

 

The new wiki is located at www.bridgewiki.pbwiki.com.  Until we complete the transition, this link will be the only way to get there, or you can bookmark it in your browser once you get there.  In September the Bridge City website will link to it, but for now with the exception of the daily reading section, it's only half-baked.  We're still transitioning all the pages over.  For now the daily reading section is the only part that's really done.

 

The new wiki requires signing up for wiki membership.   I've created a walk-through here that takes you through the process.  If you already created a PBwiki profile for this wiki, that same sign-in will work once you go through the steps in the walk-through.  If you never registered, you'll need to do that.  Walk through the steps.  Let me know if anything in the walk-through is confusing, so I can debug it for future people.  I'm hoping to have all of you through the process in the next day, so Monday will go smoothly for everyone.

 

Once you get signed up and confirmed, go to the front page of the new wiki at the link above.  Look for the "Bible Study" link in the navigation bar to the right.  Click that link, and then look for the "Daily Reading: New Testament Only" link.  That will take you to a schedule page much like this one - only prettier.  That's the page you want to keep handy.  Bookmark it.  Here's a direct link.  The links starting with Monday, July 12th wil be correct, and that's where we will continue our daily reading and comments together.
